Robin WIP1

For SacAnime Summer '11, I wanted to take a bit of a break from Metal Gear and get back to my comic book roots. The break was also to give Raiden a rest (I had taken Raiden to Fanime and San Diego Comic Con, and at the latter I had the helmet signed by Hideo, Yoji, and Yumi themselves. It now sits on my top shelf, haha), and also because my Solid Snake was turning out to be very layered and very warm, which I would rather save for a con in cooler weather (like SacAnime Winter or WonderCon. At the suggestion of one of my good friends, I decided to cosplay Robin, and currently my favorite design is his Young Justice version. It's still recognizable as Robin, but gets rid of the brighter colors and the green in favor of muted, more military-esque elements, making the Boy Wonder a little bit more badass. It doesn't hurt that my actual name starts with an R as well, haha. Here's a rundown of the suit thus far (8/6/11):

- Started a black compression tee shirt. Found a solid red compression tee and cut the sleeves off of it. Lines are sharpie, and R and yellow tabs are craft foam. Black leggings are... well, black leggings, haha.
- Gloves are from my Green Lantern costume for the GL premiere. Need to add the grey pads on the forearm, top of the hand, and knuckles.
- Cape is black on the outside, inside is lined with yellow. Held together with hot glue because I can't sew, haha. Attached to the collar, which velcros around my neck.
- TO DO: Make a new mask, work on utility belt, and find and mod some short boots.
